Description Hippocampal vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) interneurons expressing neurons that aso stain for calretinin (CR). These are the (53%) majority of VIP cells in CA1 stratum radiatum and co-express low levels (8%) of cholecystokinin (CCK) (Turi et al 2019).
