Intracellular recording from organotypic rat hippocampal cultures have shown that approximately 25% of single spikes in CA3 pyramidal neurons are followed by IPSPs at a fixed latency, presumeably a result of feedback inhibition from inhibitory interneurons. The addition of bicuculline (a competitive GABA(A) antagonist) completely abolished these responses, but they were insensitive to CGP35348, a GABA(B) antagonist Show
