Inward-rectifier potassium channel
Description
Definition
A potassium channel that will only let potassium ions into the cell which occurs when the cell membrane is brought lower than the potassium ion reversal potential. These channels are different than the delayed rectifier and A-type potassium currents which let potassium ions out of the cell when activated at depolarized voltages.
