Other categories referring to Hilar stimulation has been used to elicit (pharmacologically isolated) IPSPs in CA3 pyramidal neurons (recorded by means of intracellular or whole cell methods depending on the age of the animal). Paired pulse stimulation in this preparation resulted in paired pulse depression, which could be reduced by bath application of CGP35348 (a GABA(B)R antagonist) in adult rats.
