Description A progressive nervous disease associated with the loss of dopaminergic (dopamine producing) brain cells in the substantia nigra. Symptoms include hypokinesia (reduced movement), bradykinesia (slowing of movement), partial facial paralysis, peculiarity of gait and posture, and weakness, and rigidity, sometimes combined with rest tremor and postural changes.
